The federation database is a collection of numerous webpages that combine to form a collaborative wiki detailing a fictional universe and its inhabitants.
In-universe, the Federation Database is how The Federation stores information about everything they have encountered, and to store schematics of vehicles, weapons, and designs. This allows one engineer to create designs on one side of the federation that can be used by a commander on the other side of the federation, a bit like a future search engine. It is also used to store information for future inhabitants of the federation, and to prevent a loss of information about the past, much like what happened with the Devastation War. In addition to this, the Federation Database is designed to act like a time capsule, where if the Federation was destoryed. it would only take a single small base to restore the Federation.
